long lasting makeup tips

Do you also get irritated when your makeup, which took you quite some time in the morning, gets smudged just a few hours later? I used to feel the same way until I found a solution for myself and today, Im going to share my secrets with you so that you don’t have to go through all of this ever again.

I am pretty sure after reading this article and following exactly what I tell you, you will never have to face this problem ever again in your life. Firstly, and this is not part of my secret but just a piece of additional information, exfoliation is something that can help every one of you. It doesn’t matter if you have oily or dry skin. Exfoliated skin helps in maintaining the makeup for the whole day.

However, do not overdo exfoliation as can also be harmful to your skin if done many times. For oily skin I would suggest exfoliation three times a week and for dry skin twice a week is good enough. Now, let us dive into the secrets that helped me get through this situation.

My long-lasting makeup tips:

Do not apply multiple layers of makeup: Although it would sound like a good idea at first when you do this, you will regret it immediately. Putting on a lot of layers of makeup does not help in making it long-lasting, rather it has the opposite effect. This is because the first layer has a strong hold on your skin because of the foundation or primer that you apply before putting on makeup, but the second or third layers are not in contact with that layer of foundation, which makes them slip off easily.

Use setting spray post makeup:

This suggestion is for those girls who have to keep their makeup on for longer periods. Every time you put on make-up, use a setting spray after applying all of it on your face. This spray holds the makeup in its place for a very long time. It is highly recommended for people with dry skin. For the application of setting spray, hold the can of spray six inches away from your face and then press for two-three spritzes after applying all of your makeup products.

Use only those products that suit your skin type:

This might sound like a normal thing but trust me, many people don’t even know their skin type and that is also a reason why the makeup keeps running off their faces. If you are not sure about your skin type, consult a professional and only then start buying your makeup products. There is no use in buying products before consulting your dermatologist as these products come at a sizeable cost and if you can’t use them then what’s the point?

Expired products smudge faster: Always buy products with a longer shelf life. This will help your skin as well as your pocket. Also, when makeup products get expired, they get hard and crumbly which makes them smudge faster. Fresh makeup products stick to your skin much better.

Use setting powder for better hold: Just like setting sprays, setting powders are available in the market that work as well as a spray. In some cases, they have proven to be even better and more durable than setting sprays. Powders hold your makeup together for a longer period as compared to setting sprays. For application, carefully dab your makeup brush into your setting powder and gently dab it all over your face after applying all your makeup products. Keep in mind that you must buy a setting powder that matches your skin tone.

Conclusion:

it doesn’t matter which makeup brand you prefer, if you don’t buy a product that suits your skin type, it will always give you bad results. That’s why my advice is to always consult a dermatologist before investing thousands of rupees in these products. Moreover, there is nothing like natural beauty. So before going through all this headache of what to use and what not to use, know that you are perfect the way you are. And if you want to start a career as a makeup artist and want the learn about the nitty-gritty of the business, you can enrol in one of our elite makeup and beauty courses in Chandigarh.

FAQs:

Q. What should do if my blush hardened?

A. First of all check its expiry date, mascaras and blushes tend to get solid once they are expired.

Q. Where can I buy setting powder from and o which brand?

A. You can buy setting powder online very easily. However, I would suggest you go to a genuine brand store (any brand) and check the setting powder yourself as it is very important to match its shade with your skin tone.

Q. how much setting powder should be used at one time?

A. The amount to be used isn’t an exact science, but I would suggest only one to two dabs of it should work perfectly on any skin type.

Q. How can I find out if my makeup kit is according to my skin type? My skin type is oily

A. consult your dermatologist first, show him/her all your products and ask for their suggestions.

Q. What can I do if my makeup still runs off after applying setting spray?

A. Shift from setting spray to setting powder and also check if your products are suitable for your skin type. These are the only two things I can suggest right now.
